Parent ResourcesPartnering with ParentsIt is our belief that parents have the best opportunity to influence a child’s faith in Jesus Christ. However, we also believe that other loving and caring adults are necessary for the success of a child’s faith development. When we take the time to serve, we have the opportunity to make an impact in a child's life that can have amazing and eternal consequences. For more information on how you can serve with us, please contact Mary Anne Nelson at mnelson@bumc.net One of the goals at BUMC is to partner with parents to lead children to know Christ in a way that transforms their daily lives. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says: 'These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.' Given the amount of time we spend with your children each week compared to the time they spend at home, we know that a partnership with parents is essential. Therefore, each week you will be given a Take Home Sheet when you pick up your child. Please do not throw it in the backseat on the way home never to be looked at again! This is a tool for you to use that will let you know exactly what your children learn at church each Sunday. Ask your child what her/she learned. Go over the Bible truth and/or Bible verse.
