Donate Life - An Organ Transplant Ministry of BUMC

95% of Americans are in favor of being a donor.  Only 37% of Tennesseans have registered. 2,900 Tennesseans are on the wait list. Nationwide 22 people die everyday waiting for an organ. In every case of a successful donation some person is given the gift of a significantly improved quality of life.

How can you help?

First you can register as a transplant donor at death at Registering to be an organ donor “AT DEATH” is distinct from being a “LIVING DONOR”.  Second, you can be aware of the BUMC Organ Transplant ministry and tell others about it. If you have questions about the ministry contact Buddy at or Dianne at

Currently there are  members of BUMC awaiting a kidney transplant and THEIR NEED IS URGENT!!! Those individuals are JUSTIN NIXON and STEPHEN WEBSTER. We want the BUMC congregation to know about these wonderful persons and their families. You can find more about Justin's story here and Stephen's story here.
