Giving at BUMC

Earn all you can and save all you can, so that you can give all you can.

– John Wesley

Why We Give

Everything that we have comes from and belongs to God, and we are simply managing those resources while here on earth.  Our stewardship of those resources is not simply a method for us to raise money, it is a way of life.

  • Giving is one of the key ways we worship God, and one of the ways we demonstrate our love for God and for our neighbors.
  • Giving is an expectation of membership. We do not specify how much an individual should give, but we hope each person will commit a percentage of their income and increase that amount as they are able.
  • Giving makes possible worship, programs for children and students, Bible studies & classes, pastoral care and support, mission trips, and community projects.

Stewardship & Generosity

At the heart of our philosophy of giving is a commitment to be good stewards of our God-given resources.  We want to be intentional as a church in placing our lives and resources before God as an offering of praise and shared sacrifice.  Each year we ask our members to commit their tithes and offerings for the coming year in support of the church’s ministry and mission.  >> STEWARDSHIP

Memorial Giving

Memorial Giving is a wonderful and meaningful way to remember and memorialize our loved ones.  Memorial gifts can make a difference now.  >> MEMORIAL GIVING

Legacy Giving & the BUMC Foundation

As a member of the church, you have committed to a life of discipleship, and being a part of a church focused on making disciples for the transformation of the world.  A gift to the BUMC Foundation is one way of furthering your lifetime commitment and stewardship by remembering in your will or trust as a designated beneficiary. A legacy gift is a way to provide support to the church’s mission and ministries into the future.  >> BUMC FOUNDATION
