DAILY READING

Psalm 86:3-10

This weekend’s reading: Daniel 3:13-30

FIELD NOTES
Have you ever had a day where you seem to be missing everyone? Every call, text or email seems unanswered or straight to voicemail. In the workplace it can be a huge inconvenience, and, personally, it can make you question your relationships with friends and family members. What is most likely a mere coincidence can feel like the worst kind of plot against you. Personally, these days seem to come when I’m feeling the most lonely, the most vulnerable, and my need for certain people to respond only adds to feelings of despair and loneliness.

Psalm 86:7 reminds us that we have a God that will answer us when we call. No many how many times we call out, no matter the subject of our call, God is always there to answer. No missed or dropped calls, no voicemail, our God will always answer us in our time of need. We are always heard.

QUESTIONS FOR THE FIELD

  • What are ways that God has answered you in your life?
  • When in need, do you call on God, or someone or something else?

FAMILY FIELD TALK

  • What makes a good listener?
  • Do you think God is a good listener?

PRAYER GUIDE
Oh Lord in my most vulnerable times you are there. You are a God who responds. I am so thankful for your presence in my life and in my times of need.
