Ash

April 1, 2019

DAILY READING

2 Corinthians 5:20-6:10
Psalm 51
This weekend’s reading: Luke 23:18-24

FIELD NOTES

We are ash.  Brought in to this world and gone in an instant of eternity.

And yet, we matter to God.  We matter so much in fact that He became like us in the person of Jesus Christ.  He became ash, just like us for a brief speck on the eternal timeline so that He might save us, teach us, heal us

We matter to God.  We have Jesus as an example, whose life was so brief, and yet its legacy continues to this day.  We may be ash, but our lives, if lived in the love and grace of Jesus Christ, can be eternal.

We are here for only a fleeting moment.  Make it count.

QUESTIONS FOR THE FIELD

  • Do I truly believe I matter to God?
  • What do I want my legacy to be?

FAMILY FIELD TALK

  • What are the things you will remember about your family?

PRAYER GUIDE

Almighty God, may we always seek to love in a way that people will remember long after we are gone.  Not so we are remembered, but so that You are remembered.  Amen.
