Do you have a cheerful servant heart, with a little sense of adventure, and want to help those struggling with home repairs and safe drinking water right here in TN?
The Jubilee Project is a United Methodist mission project focused on community development, service and empowerment in Central Appalachia, in Sneedville, TN, a small rural area in Hancock County, one of the poorest areas of TN and among the top 100 poorest counties in the US. 32% of the people live below the poverty level.
Jubilee’s Core Values in the name of Jesus Christ:
• Food Security
• Access to Clean Water
• Self-Worth and Love
WHAT’S THE TRIP ABOUT?
Serving people in need of home repairs in rural TN while spending a meaningful five days in ministry with multi-generational Trinity friends laughing and loving, using tools and teamwork to serve others.
Working with the advice of a Jubilee Project site supervisor, the Trinity team will work on projects assigned for us to improve lives of locals in need.
WHO CAN GO?
Anyone with a cheerful spirit, sense of adventure wanting to be a team member as the hands and feet of Jesus. Ages 9+ with a family member/guardian, or age 16+ without an accompanying parent/guardian. Everyone is a critical part of the team despite your age – everyone is valuable!
WHAT DOES IT COST?
A registration deposit of $100 per person due by June 3rd. The final amount due will vary depending on our team size, but we anticipate the remaining $200 per person to be the final amount due by early September, which covers the all-inclusive week of lodging, food that we will cook together for family-style meals, construction/repair supplies for our service, and a team t-shirt!
We are holding the first team meeting June 3rd after the service. To sign up or if you would like more information contact Elizabeth Baldwin
