Lindsay Brooks – Director of Student Ministry
Lindsay supervises the youth staff and oversees implementation of the Student Ministry vision and goals. She is also responsible for coordinating with other departments, youth communications, and periodic teaching in youth Sunday School and on Sunday nights. Lindsay is passionate about helping students discern their gifts and calling and helping them discover ways to live those out in the Kingdom of God now! She started on staff at BUMC the summer of 2008. Her undergraduate degree is in Secondary Education: Economics/Political Science from Clemson University and has a Master of Arts with a focus in Religion from Memphis Theological Seminary. Lindsay is married to David Brooks who is also on the BUMC staff as the Media Director, and they welcomed their first child, Parker, into the world in the May of 2013!
Adam Jones – High School Minister
Adam has a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Lambuth University and a Masters in Youth Ministry from Memphis Theological through the Center for Youth Ministry Training. Adam is passionate about teaching and speaking in a way that connects the Gospel to teenagers and helps them realize their vital role in the Kingdom. Adam began serving as clergy under deacon’s orders in 2015. He was a part of BUMCSM while he was in High School and is honored and blessed to be serving the congregation that helped him hear his call. Adam and his wife Carlisle both serve in youth ministry in United Methodist Churches and spend most of their time ministering to teens and laughing at their bulldogs, Hurley and Patty. Derek Walker – Middle School Youth Minister
Derek is originally from the beautiful island of Ireland and has an undergraduate degree in youth and community work with applied theology from Belfast Bible college. He moved to Nashville in the Summer of 2013 to study a Masters in Youth Ministry from Memphis theological Seminary through CYMT. Derek is a HUGE Arsenal fan and in his spare time he loves to play soccer, make music and make things out of wood.
Lee oversees our 30+ small groups and works to empower and equip students as they grow in their relationship with Christ. She plans and writes the curriculum for the Sunday night series, trains our group leaders, and teaches in both Sunday School and Sunday night programming throughout the year. Lee graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Sociology and New York University with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work. She is currently attending Asbury Theological Seminary, working towards a Master’s in Christian Ministry. Before coming to BUMC, Lee worked as a therapist, and she brings her passion for investing in the lives of others to her work here at BUMC. Lee is married to Herschel- who also serves on staff at BUMC as the Director of Adult Discipleship. Lee loves to spend time with her friends and family and her dogs, Izzy and Reba. She enjoys traveling, live music, and cheering on her Auburn Tigers!
Thomas Becker – Worship Leader
Thomas is the worship leader for the Student Ministry and has worked with both the 7th-9th grade and 10th-12th grade bands since September 2012. Born and raised in Nashville, TN, Thomas graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Recording Industry Management. He and his wife, Elizabeth, were married in May of 2007 and live in Old Hickory, TN with their daughter, Emery, who was born in May of 2014.
Tatiana Liston – Student Ministry Events & Trips
Tatiana serves as the Student Ministry Events and Trip Coordinator. Her husband Zack is also on staff as the Associate Director for Children & Youth Music. They both recently moved to Nashville from Dallas Texas, with their dog Layla, where they attended Highland Park United Methodist Church. She has a degree from Dallas Baptist University in Christian Studies and also attended Texas A&M during her undergrad. Before joining the BUMC staff Tatiana worked for a Plano nonprofit called Orphan Outreach, where she was involved with international orphan care and mission planning. She has a passion for student ministry and has been involved in serving along side youth for 10 years.
Cayce Long - Student Ministry Media Associate
Cayce graduated with a BA degree in Photography and Videography from Nossi College of Art in Nashville, Tennessee. He is native to the Nashville area attending Goodpasture Christian School from Kindergarten through completion of high school in 2010, and returned to serve as Visual Caption Head of the Goodpasture Marching Cougars in 2011where he still holds this title. He enjoys music, fitness, movies, and photography.
Rosanne Schenck – Administrative Assistant
Rosanne graduated from Clemson University and worked in the corporate world prior to becoming a stay at home mom for 14 years. After moving into the Brentwood area in 2009 from Chicago she started volunteering in the Student Ministry area and took on the job of Administrative Assistant when it became available in August of 2010. Rosanne is married to Mike and is the mother of 2 daughters Katherine and Rebecca who are both students at Clemson University.
